A record year despite upheaval for British Converting Solutions Ltd.

Part of the machine assembly hall at BCS

Houghton Regis, UK based manufacturer of Quick Set corrugated box making machines, British Converting Solutions Ltd (BCS) have completed their 2016/17 financial with revenue increasing by 20% and profits up by 40%.

The year commenced with the business relocating to a purpose-built factory bringing all the business activities under one roof. Previously, BCS occupied 4 separate factory units which as the business expanded, hindered productivity and efficiencies. An expanded inhouse components manufacturing department has benefited from almost €/$1m of investment equipping it with the very latest in CNC machine tools. BCS is now a vertically integrated manufacturer capable of producing inhouse, all its own components and fabricated items. This increased resource will enable the business to continue to expand without having to extend machine delivery times.

BCS continued its R&D programme with the launch of “The Boxer”, a complete box making system aimed primarily at Companies needing to produce their own boxes inhouse to meet the growing demands of e-commerce. An inline one or two colour Digital Printer was also launched complimenting both “The Boxer” and the BCS Autobox product lines.

Export sales accounted for almost 80% of revenue with the business continuing to see growth in North America, Central & Eastern Europe and Australasia. Home market sales also saw significant growth. BCS were recipients of The Queen’s Award For Enterprise – International Trade, the most prestigious Award for a British business in recognition of significant growth in Export sales. In 2017/18, BCS is set to continue growth in new Export markets including South America and SE Asia.

Comments BCS Managing Director, Barry Tabor “2016/17 was a challenging year for us as we relocated to a new factory, with all of the disruption that moving brings! It is testament to all the BCS staff that despite this, we have completed a record year. We are set to continue growth in the coming year with increasing demand for our expanding range of box making machines”.
